Currently, I am a student at the University of Nairobi undertaking MSc course in project planning and management. I am motivated by the opportunity to join a reputable research team at the International Livestock Research Institute.

Previously I worked at xxx, as an intern then later as a volunteer. My responsibility included designing data collection tools, collecting community and household-level data, data entry and cleaning and writing technical reports. I have gained valuable experience in research for development that particularly motivated me on the choice of my career in project planning and management. I have also gained extensive knowledge and skills in designing field survey. My work at ICIPE has exposed me to extremely multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. I have found bringing together researchers from different fields to be particularly beneficial, and my interdisciplinary background has provided me with effective communication skills with diverse groups. I am keen to continue collaborating with researchers from other disciplines in order to better understand complex issues.

My research interest is to determine how participatory research approaches, using FEAST, as a tool influences the efficiency of feed interventions and assess its impact in the knowledge of those who apply the approach. I am therefore particularly attracted to the International Livestock Research Institute as an institution which values research using a wide range of methodologies, and which offers the chance for collaboration with colleagues in other life sciences fields.

Besides being a highly flexible and self-driven person, I am a quick learner who commands competence in both basic computer skills and econometric software products (including SPSS).
