I am writing to express my keen interest in the Finance Management Program at GE. My strong academic background, which includes a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Finance, combined with work experience in equity options trading and in asset management, makes me a suitable candidate for this program. GE, being a company of great repute, will be the right environment for me to start this new challenge.

Since the beginning of my career in Finance, I have held an interest in a quantitative approach to capital markets as well as in asset management. Working at xxxxx gave me invaluable experience in financial markets as well as practical know-how of derivatives. Furthermore, trading during the financial crisis of 2008 gave me a unique insight in the stressed market environment, which has proven to be an asset so far in my career.

While at xxxxx working on several projects encompassing xxxx research and derivatives, gave me extensive experience in quantitative analysis and research. In my last project at xxxxx, I developed a xxxx strategy based on xxxx and live tested it for about a year. Additionally, I developed an in-house risk management tool for this strategy. The strategy showed profit after costs, even though the costs incurred were relatively high compared to the account volume.

In addition, my master studies in finance has equipped me with extensive knowledge of capital markets. As far as software skills are concerned, I have worked with MATLAB and other statistical software such as R, both in my bachelor as well as in my master studies. Apart from that, I have experience in programming languages like C++, Java and VBA.

Apart from all the aforementioned skills, I am a strong analytical thinker and a highly motivated individual, who is a valuable team player but is able to work independently if the situation demands so. Challenging projects, which do not have a fixed routine and require out of the box thinking, excite me the most. The aforementioned skills, experiences and traits culminate in making me a strong and qualified candidate for this position.
